These beautiful Brass Hamsa Hand dish/bowl can be used in the home for holding your crystals or jewellery or whatever your heart desires  

Please note that when you purchase one of these handcrafted Hamsas from Indonesia no two items will be exactly the same as there will be slight variations between each product and my pictures. I find these perfect imperfections to make your beautiful piece truly one of a kind.

The Hamsa  is a palm-shaped amulet/talisman popular throughout Middle East and commonly used in jewellery and wall hangings. Throughout history it is said to be used to depict the open right hand, this is an image recognized and used as a sign of protection, blessings, and a symbol of strength to protect against the Evil eye. It is now being used by many people the world over for the same, as a sign of Protection, Blessings and good luck.

So it is often seen both Hamsa Hand facing Up and facing down. Which one is right. The easy answer they both are. 

It is said that when the Hamsa hand faces down it is often interpreted as a gesture of welcoming into your life an abundance of goodness,  kindness, friendship, of all that the universe has to offer. It is also thought when the hand is facing down it also blesses one with fertility and answers prayers and manifestations. This is the most common way you will see the hand, with the fingers pointing down

It is thought that when the Hamsa hand is facing up, it is a universal sign to ward against evil. It is a powerful sign of protection and shields us from our and other people’s inner thoughts of hatred, jealousy, and insecurities.

The Arabic word for Hamsa, Khamsah, means "five", but also "the five fingers of the hand".

The Hamsa is also known as the Hand of Fatima after The daughter of Muhammad  the Hand of Mary, the Hand of Miriam, and the Hand of the Goddess.
