It has a Metal sheet inside for protection against fire. It also has drawer panel that can hold and store incenses inside.

Directions for Use
Partially fill a incense burner with ash or sand.
Simply lie the incense flat on a bed of sand or ash in the inner metal tray.
Burn 3 or 4 sticks at a time to prevent overheating.
Designed to be burnt with the lid opened or closed.
I have on and i just put a hole through the metal tray so i can stand the incense up too.
